Funded by the National Empowerment Partnership and contracted by Community Development Exchange, we researched the community empowerment dimensions of the DiCE planning & evaluation framework’ in practice to develop the ‘handy guide’ (see our resources page) mentioned above
In consultation with 6 practitioners across the country we developed the ‘Getting to Grips with Community Empowerment’ (see our resources page)document to pull concepts together and help staff in different sectors understand what community empowerment is and why it is difficult to get to grips with!
Contracted by Dosti, Dudley’s Community Empowerment Network, we developed an evaluation framework for community networks to identify the level of impact and influence they have in relation to partnerships; we embedded the 5 community dimensions into the framework to ensure an empowering approach
Dudley Community Partnership (Local Strategic Partnership) funded an initiative to develop a cross-sectoral community engagement strategy. We facilitated a series of sessions with a Working Group, to develop common understandings of community empowerment across sectors and understand how community empowerment could become a central theme of the emerging strategy
Funded by the National Empowerment Partnership and contracted by Community Development Exchange, we undertook research through interviews to develop the ‘echo’ framework, which identifies public sector agencies’ openness to community influence
Funded by the West Midlands Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership, we have run a series of action research sessions to develop ‘echo’ with officers from public sector agencies across the region
